In my research I focus on variation in the Middle Low German dialects. I am currently working on the distribution of null pronominal arguments and on resumptives and gaps in relative clauses. By doing this, specified tags which are needed for the creation of a tagged and parsed corpus of Middle Low German (a part of the Corpus of Historical Low German) can be developed. My research interests include amongst others historical linguistics, dialectology, Dutch and German linguistics, language variation and change, generative grammar and comparative linguistics. Before I started with my PhD, I helped to realise the projects Dialectloket and Stemmen uit het verleden as a member of the team of the Woordenboek van de Vlaamse Dialecten.
